Hi Everyone, One of the other amazing teacher-librarians in the district has shared some excellent resources you can access from home about diversity. There are some excellent books to listen to. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. Hi Everyone, It has been nice to see some of you at school over the last week. I sure did miss all of you. I hope all of you are spending lots of time outside. One of my favorite authors JK Rowling who wrote the Harry Potter series has a new book to share with us. It is called The Ickabog. The book is being released online right now with new chapters coming out each week. You can check out Chapter 1 here. So far there are 8 available chapters to read. I have read the first 3 and love them. I am looking forwar to reading the rest. If you want to put your art skills to use, JK is also looking for kids to help illustrate the story. We are eligible using the US Competition link. If you are between the ages of 7-12, give it a try! The Ingenium Museum in Ontario has all sorts of fun activities to try from home. This week they are highlighting experiments you can do from home. There is a Jello earthquake, a homemade compass, sailboat racing and much more. Discovery Education is offering a variety of virtual field trips. Check out their website here and choose a destination to explore. Hi Everyone, Today I have added Chapter 3 from How to Train your Dragon. The book is following the adventure of Hiccup the viking on his quest to capture and train his first dragon as part of his initiation. You can listen to Chapter 3 here. I have also added some fun activity sheets below if you are interested. There is a create your own dragon page, a word search, and a Dragonese language worksheet to try. Have fun!

Today I am sharing Violet and Victor write the Best-Ever Bookworm Book, written by Alice Kuipers. She is a Canadian author living in Saskatchewan and her books feature twins Violet and Victor. I love the illustrations in this story, I feel like they bring the story to life. Enjoy! Listen to some of your favorite stories at Storyline Online. One of the stories I love to listen to with my own kids is Arnie the Doughnut by Laurie Keller. I have posted it below for you enjoy. Check out lots of other books at the link above.
